by the 3rd day i was too lazy to write after getting back to the hotel. it's crazy how we kept missing ximending's night life simply because
we went back at precisely 12am every day
After my daily illicit love affair (in different outfits!) with jielun (who lived right outside our hotel) we bumped our way down to jiufen, aka kath's beloved place =P it's a wonder how we managed to land ourselves on the correct train and afterwards on a shuttle bus that had also carried my *ahem* jielun-lookalike =P Jiufen was loff. The food's amazing and while it's small & without shops to shop in the area was v. quaint & cosy :D Also we had friendly chat with shopkeeper who gave us a packet of mushroom-flavoured peanut cake FOC because we taught her english =P
Kath had her cup of snails/cuttlefish which kind of grossed yt&i out because we couldn't imagine how the snails'd been... riiippped from their shells o.O. oh eew. anyway it was super cold back and kath mistakenly bought FIRST-class tickets so we had a luxurious ride back to taipei city :P
Shida night market was crazy walk at night because lousy map gave the wrong mrt station :S. Random passerby'd directed us to ShiDa UNIVERSITY instead so in the end we decided to utilise the security guard for information lol. When we got there we started telling random stallholders how we'd gotten lost =P
Kath'd brazenly asked Tall Cute Guys "ni3 men2 zai4 pai2 shen3 me4?" instead of craning her head to check which was made yt&i go into fits because the way she'd approached them was so heeelarious! Also we bought stuff from these two superrrr pretty girls on way back-- one'd thought yt said "glory" was nong2 yao4 (pesticide) in chinese LOL! And we had a looonngg talk at some beefnoodleshop ;)
